Rancho Tonto Catch-A-Trout is nestled below the Mogollon Rim. The original homestead of Sam Haught, aka Green Valley Sam to those that remember MGM's Leo the Lion, which was rescued from hell's gate wilderness by Sam Haught. Over the past 85 years this homestead has provided many great memories for families and friends, this lush property that borders Tonto Creek, is now open to the public for far greater memories.



Rancho Tonto Catch-A-Trout is a day use property that will allow people to come in and fish for Rainbow Trout. Leave your gear at home, Everything's included in the Pole Rental price

BBQ and picnic tables are available for Rancho Tonto Anglers. Grill kits are also available in our gift shop.
Fishing Fees:
  • Pole Rental: $1.00 each (No personal fishing poles allowed due to possibility of Whirling Disease)
  • Fish Caught: $7.50 per fish 10" and below, $.75 per inch thereafter.
    (You keep and pay for every fish caught - No catch & release)
  • Fish Cleaning: We'll even clean them for you for 50¢ per fish (including bag & ice)

OPEN DAILY 10:00AM - 5:00PM May 1 through Labor Day.
Labor Day through November 1 - Friday thru Sunday, 10:00AM - 5:00PM,
Fishing by appointment can be scheduled throughout the winter.

Rancho Tonto welcomes the opportunity to host your family reunions, weddings or birthday parties for a nominal fee. Please call to schedule your special event and to inquire about our rates.
